Let me begin by saying long time, no post. I have not posted here since October, because for some reason I just quit, cold turkey. Weird, but sometimes my mind just wanders like that...I'm all about one thing and suddenly become completely sidetracked and jump to another. Also, my family and I were knee deep in plans that were being worked and re-worked for an addition to our home. Besides finalizing the many details of the plans, we were also waffling back and forth about actually taking the plunge and not just imagining we would. And so, after many months of blueprint tweaking, and years of debating moving or staying where we are, we decided to Just Do It. We finalized everything with our builder in December, and broke ground and began construction in January. And life has been an fascinating ride ever since.
For whatever reason, I chose not to journal our progress here on my blog, but I have been keeping a daily journal of my own. I think it will be very telling to look back upon this one day and see what went into accomplishing something we had only dreamed of and talked about for a long time. The project- and quite a project it is -has had it's ups, downs, and everything in between, but I would definitely do it again (to someone else's house, haha) and I am glad we decided to give it the green light.
Perhaps I will journal some of it here on the blog as well - I have certainly learned alot and would have been relieved for certain questions to have been answered for me along the way by someone who has been there. Now I feel a little more qualified to write something that might be helpful to another curious soul contemplating their own home addition. While there have been a few instances I would have been glad for the Home Makeover crew to rush in and finish this in four days, I would have hated to miss out on all the addition adventure has involved and all that I have learned from it.
Until Next Time,
Restless Native II
